Farker is now a dad!

For those of you who have been around, you probably knew my wife and I were expecting twins. They were born last week! Both are healthy and happy, but since they were premature they will be in the NICU for another couple of weeks probably.

It was a scary experience--we had just been to a sealing in Idaho Falls and were on our way home when she told me she was in too much pain to make it down to Provo, or even Salt Lake. We called 911 from the freeway and they had us turn around and head back up to Pocatello. An ambulance was actually on its way back from Salt Lake and pulled over to take my wife with sirens and everything. We arrived and they were born about 45 minutes later (via c-section).

I have gotta tell you guys, nothing compares with how you feel when you look at a baby weighing less than a couple of text books and knowing he is yours to raise. It is incredible. My wife has made a pretty good recovery, and the boys were flown down here on Saturday.

All is well. I would post pictures if I knew how. I don't even know how to express what this all feels like.

Also, as a side note, we've been trying to keep track of the expenses incurred, just for fun (we're not paying for them directly). We don't have a for-sure total yet, but it's clearly in the six digits, probably close to a quarter of a million dollars.

Congratulations man

That's quite the story, Farker. And those are some intense medical bills. How are you paying for them? Insurance?

Yeah, it was medicaid. It's

Yeah, it was medicaid. It's sad, but we honestly couldn't afford even to buy insurance. The medicaid guy just glanced at our bank accounts and said, "I'm quite sure you qualify for full coverage." Dang good thing, too.

How do you post pictures?

Wow dude...

Best of luck Farker

If you ever need a babysitter, let me know! ;)

Congrats dude

And may you have as many nights of full sleep that are possible over the next 18 years

Congratulations, Farker!

Congratulations, Farker!

Farker, you gotta try to post pictures or link us to them! We wanna see (at least I do). I think it's great to hear you talk about how special of an experience it is. I can't wait!

posting pictures

I don't have a good solution in place at the moment, but what you can do is to upload your pictures to a webserver and then place an IMG tag in your comment which will make the photo show up.
