America votes to ban same-sex marriages

As of 9:55pm PDT, it looks like all 11 States that had measures on the ballot to ban same-sex marriages have been approved with a resounding majority. This is great news. As someone who is not thrilled about the efforts to ammend the US Constitution, I am glad to see more states step up and make the right decision here.

Of course, it's inevitable that one of these states will see a challenge pushed up to the Supreme Court. Maybe then it will become necessary. My feeling is that it is a necessary step—let the process run its course first, and only then consider the Constitution.
